About

Cookie Policy

This page explains how ToolHub uses cookies and similar technologies. Our public website is designed to work without cookies wherever possible.

This document is a working draft and may be revised. Please contact us if you spot any inaccuracy.

1. What is a cookie

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies can be used for things like remembering preferences, keeping you signed in, or analysing how a site is used.

2. Cookies on the public site

The public ToolHub site (the homepage, tool pages, about and legal pages) does NOT set any cookies. Pages are fully cacheable and no tracking identifier is created for visitors.

3. localStorage

We may store a small amount of data in your browser's localStorage to remember UI preferences such as the language you selected. This data is technically not a cookie, never leaves your device, and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.

4. Administration backend

The /admin section, which is accessible only to authorised administrators, uses a single session cookie for authentication. This cookie is HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict and, on HTTPS deployments, Secure. It is not set for regular visitors of the public site.

5. Future advertisements or analytics

If in the future we enable an advertisement or analytics provider, we will pick a privacy friendly one (for example contextual advertising networks that do not set tracking cookies). Should that provider require cookies, we will display a consent banner asking for your permission, in line with applicable laws (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA).

6. How to control cookies

You can clear cookies and local storage at any time from your browser settings. Disabling cookies or localStorage will not break the public site, but the administration backend will require you to sign in again on every visit.

7. Contact

If you have any question about cookies on this site, contact lybxin@gmail.com.
